My Most Incredible Day!

What would my perfect day consists of? Well to start off it would be winter break and I would have spent the night at my Nana and Papa’s house. This way I would not have to wake up with a ton of noise from my siblings and nothing for breakfast. My Nana and Papa have an amazingly conferrable queen sized guest bed that I would get the best night of sleep ever. When I wake up and 8:30 am I would walk down stairs to see that my Papa has made me Mickey Mouse pancakes with sausage eyes and mouth, drenched in syrup. Along with my pancakes I would like some strawberries and green grapes and for the drink I would have a caramel macchiato from Starbucks. After this I would get ready for the day. My outfit would be amazing, with navy blue low waisted jeans and a brown long sleeve button up shirt from brandy Melville. I would come down stairs and me and my Nana would take the dog Bailey for a walk on the green belt. The green belt is a long path shaded with trees that goes through out the neighborhood. After that we would go home and pick up my Papa. Now it would be about noon and we would drive down to the spectrum. We would have lunch at California Pizza Kitchen and the go shopping at target, Brandy, Hollister, and Nordstrom’s. I would eat some new jeans, sweaters, T-shirts, and sweatshirts. Then we would go see a movie. I would get popcorn, a soda, a Twix, and some M&M’s. On our way back home we would drive thru Chick-fil-A. I would get a kids meal with 5 chicken nuggets, waffle fries, a lemonade, and I would trade in my toy for an ice cream. Then we would go home play some board games and I would take a shower. Finally I would get in bed watch Gilmore Girls, and go to sleep. That’s it for todays blogs thanks for reading.

Sixteen!!!

If I could be any age permanently I would want to be sixteen. I have many reasons why I would want to be sixteen forever, and one of them is that I could drive! One of my dream or something I looked forward to since I was little was being able to drive. I could drive myself to school so I wouldn’t be late, I could drive myself to dance so I could be there earlier to warm up, and I could even drive myself to Starbucks to get some coffee instead of having to walk. Another reason why I would want to be sixteen forever is because you have lots of freedom. Your still a child so you don’t have permission to do whatever you want whenever you want but you are still trusted by your parents and are treated like an adult. The third reason why I would want to be sixteen forever is because of my sweet sixteen party. This party would be probably the best party that I would ever have and this is because it would have all of my friends and family. I love going to birthday parties, giving gifts, getting gifts, and most of all hanging out with the people who I care about most. The final reason why I would want to be sixteen forever is because you could get a job. This is exciting to me because making money is super fun and I love to save up for things like clothes, AirPods, shoes, and more. But when I get a job I could start saving up for college, a car, and other future payments that I will have to make. As you can now see I have many reasons why I would want to be sixteen forever. Thank you for taking your time to read my blogs.

My Favorite Holiday!!!

My favorite holiday is Christmas and there are so many amazing things about it; family get together, delicious dinners, cool presents. Which I love too but my favorite reason is because of a tradition that I have with my siblings. What I mean by this is that every Christmas Eve when I get home from my grandma and grandpa’s house me and my siblings make cookies and milk, put down flour to get Santa’s footprints, read part of the Bible, and play character in the story with our wooden nativity scene. But none of those are my absolute favorite Christmas tradition. My favorite Christmas tradition is the slumber party!

When we get into are pajamas and brush our teeth me and my siblings set up for a slumber party. This usually takes place in me and my sister Tessa’s bedroom because it’s the biggest and there’s already 2 mattress in there. I sleep in my bed, my older sister McKenna sleeps in the other bed, and my younger sister and brother Tessa and Eli sleep on the air mattress. McKenna read us a book for about a half hour when we can’t fall asleep because we’re so excited, and are parents are setting up for the morning. We make a lot of good memories, when my brother was little and could not sleep through the night. One time he got a bloody nose twice and was sleep walking and sleep talking. That night none of us got much sleep.

Usually in the morning before my parents come and get us my little siblings tell me stories about how they saw Santa, how they heard the reindeers land on the rooftop, and how they heard footsteps. We also have to wait for about two hours after the rest of us are already awake for McKenna to get up. When she finally gets up my parents make us brush are teeth and hair, make are beds, and finally we get to come downstairs. This part is always so exciting because they hang a shower curtain so we can’t see into the living room. They also have music playing, coffee brewing, and we can here them saying things like “their gonna love it” or “it’s almost time”. As you can now see me and my sibling have a special tradition that is my favorite part about Christmas my favorite holiday. Thank you for reading my blog. Hope you liked it.

Rad Reading – September

In the month of September I read a book called 12 Before 13 by Lisa Greenwald. 12 Before 13 is a amazing realistic fiction book about a 12 year old girl named Arianna Nodberg. Arianna goes by Ari and she is just returning from a Jewish summer camp called Camp Silver. When she returns home from camp she feels different, but in a good way. She felt more grown up and now is more interested in her religion then she was before she went to camp. Ari and her best friend Kaylan have been best friends since they were four years old, but they suddenly feel disconnected because Kaylan became closer with the “lunch table girls” (their friends from school) because they spent time together while Ari was at camp. Ari and Kaylan decided that they want to create a list of things they wanted to complete before Ari’s Bat mitzvah to bring them closer together. During the mists of this journey Ari’s dad loses his job and the lunch table girls and Kaylan hang out without Ari, and they have only 3 months to figure it all out.

I enjoyed this book because it was extremely relatable. I am 12 and am going to be 13 in April so I was able to understand lots of details and events that Ari and Kaylan were going through. For example friend problems, school problems, and even social media problems were all mentioned in the book and are all problems that other people may age go through. This shows that the author did and incredible job on making this book realistic. Not only were their problems relatable but the way that Ari interacted with her friends was very accurate too.

Kaylan was my favorite character, I say this because while Ari was away at camp Kaylan didn’t just sit around and wait for her to come back. She instead took control of her problem and made new friends. Kaylan was not selfish or disloyal to Ari even thought Ari told her that’s how she felt. She stood up for herself and I can prove it with this quote from the book. On page 247 Kaylan states “ Camp is all that matters to you! Camp this and camp that. And Alice and Golfy and whatever. You don’t care about these girls, Ari! Just admit it.”

One quote from the book that really stands out to me is on page 43, “Everyone (especially Kaylan) thinks of me as chill, relaxed, free-spirit Ari. And I am, or at least I appear to be. I mean, nothing ever feels like that big of a deal to me—that’s true…” I liked this quote because it shows how Ari feels about herself in the beginning of the book. When you keep reading you can tell that these character traits change drastically and every little thing starts to bug her. You can also tell that she feels like she can’t express herself because then it would change her image and be very unexpected of her.

Dr. Seuss Land!!!

If I could live in any alternative universe I would live in Dr. Seuss land. I have many reasons why but I’m just going to list three. One reason is because I could make friends with so many characters including The Grinch, Horton, and Even the Cat In The Hat. I would want to be friends with them because they all have such different personalities and story’s. The Grinch is mean, self centered, and his heart is 3 sizes to small until the end of the story when he realizes how good it feels to be kind. That means he ends up being a good person and that’s the Grinch that I would want to be friends with.
Another reason why I would want to live in Dr. Seuss land is because I could own so many strange pets. I could own Sally and her brothers overprotective pet fish from the book The Cat In The Hat. If my mom could not find a babysitter when I was younger he could have easily stepped in. Or I could have a Zillow that stays on my pillow from the book There’s a Wocket in my Pocket. I would want to have a Zillow because in the book it says that it helps him fall asleep and I want a pet to help me go to sleep. Or maybe I could even have a pet Grox from the book Oh Say Can You Say.
The third reason why I would want to live in Dr. Seuss land is because of all of the amazing machines. Theres is a amazing machine in the book Sneetches created by Sylvester McMonkey McBean. He’s machine gives the Plain-Belly Sneetches stars and later takes off the Star-Belly Sneetches stars. I would want a similar machine that in the morning could put on your clothes and shoes for you. Or maybe I could have the Cat In The Hats machine that picks up for you. I would want this book because I hate cleaning my house with all of my heart and this machine would do it for me. As you can see there are multiple reasons why I would want to live in Dr. Seuss land but I just named a few. Hope you liked my blog. Thanks for reading.

My Favorite Meal!!!

My favorite meal is something that I just discovered was so delicious. It’s sweet, sour, crunchy, and smooth. The grilled ham and pear sandwich from Rutabegorz in old town Tustin is a sandwich that they only serve in summer and it’s so good. The crunchy sourdough bread it’s toasted perfectly with just the right amount of Dijon mustard. There’s grilled ham and melted mozzarella cheese that balance each other out. There is thinly sliced pears and caramelized onions that created the sweet part of the sandwich. This amazing sandwich also comes with an delicious apricot jam.

The side that I like to have with my ham a pear sandwich is a bowl of fresh fruit. The bowl consists of ripe strawberries, big blueberries, seedless watermelon, and smooth pineapple. I have always loved all fruits but these are my absolute favorites. My favorite dessert is flan. I also just discovered in April when my grandma made it. Two days later I was at a restaurant they gave me complementary flan for my birthday. I just love the creamy texture and Carmel taste of it. Finally my favorite drink would be Diet Coke. I love Diet Coke because it has so many bubbles but it’s not to sweet like sprite or regular coke. This would be my favorite meal that I would love to have for my birthday dinner or any holiday. Hope you guys liked this blog and I will post to you next week.

My Dream Home

My dream home is located in Montana. I have always wanted to live in Montana because of the difference in weather. My old 5th grade teacher lived in there and always talked about how great it was there. My dream home’s outside is a lite baby blue with white framing around the windows. It’s 2 story’s high and the garage separated from the rest of the house. The front door is white with gold handles and has brick steps leading up to it. There is a white picket fence going around the lawn and a white archway going over the brick pathway. Under the windows and around the fence there are little flower plants.

Inside you walk into a entry hallway with a white backpack, purse, or jacket holder and on the other side there is a big mirror with a gold frame. On the right their is a living room with a big black L shaped leather couch a fireplace with white brick going all the way up to the roof. There is a “balcony/look over” from the second story looking over into the living room. The walls are white and have can light in the ceiling. There is a gold chandelier hanging in the living room. There is a guest bedroom and bathroom off of the living room with a tv, queen sized bed, and walking closet. The bathroom has a shower/bath and the counter tops are marble.

On the left side of the hallway is a formal dining table and above that is a chandelier. The walls are white and there is a wooden cabinet with glass doors, inside are fancy china/dishes. There is a window at one head of the table and a picture of Paris on the other wall. There is an open floor plan into the modern kitchen. All of the cabins are white, there is a big island that has marble counter tops, electrical outlets on either side, cupboards underneath, and wooden stools on the other side. The cabinets, refrigerator, and freezer are white with gold handles. Above the stove there is a gold pot filer. The sink is a big farmhouse sink for the many dished and the faucet is also gold. There is a butlers pantry with many outlets, storage, and another sink. There is a bay window that is used for seating around the circular table. A beautiful sliding glass door leads you outside to the backyard.

Once you go upstairs there is a family room which looks over the living room. There is a big white comfy couch, many chairs and a huge tv. The walls are still white and there is light brown fuzzy carpet. To the left there is a hallway which leads to 3 kids bedroom. One has light blue walls, a twin sized bed, a sliding glass door the leads out to the balcony, and a bathroom with a bath and shower combo. The other 2 have sage green walls, a twin sized bed, and sliding glass doors that lead out to the balcony, and a combined bathroom that connects to both rooms. To the left of the family room there is a playroom with a Dutch door, many toys and a the same brown fuzzy carpet. Finally, next to the playroom is the master bathroom. The master bedroom has white wall, and king sized bed facing a huge tv with a navy blue comforter, two night stands each with a gold lamp. There is a a office with 2 built in desks and and a couch. The master bathroom has a Jacuzzi bathtub, a walk in shower, and double sinks. There is a balcony that looks over the backyard with a fireplace and lots of outside setting.

When you walk into the backyard you see a beautiful outdoor kitchen with many bar stools, a ice maker, and a drink fridge. There is a overhang that shades the kitchen. Next to that there is a big pool and jacuzzi with rocks that have water flowing out of them and a built in slide. There is a fireplace with so much seating, and a big patch of grass. To the right of the pool there is a trampoline. This is my dream home, I know it’s a lot but personally I think it’s pretty amazing. Hope you guys liked this blog and I will post next week.

I Love London!!!

If I could travel anywhere on planet Earth it would be London. One reason is because in the first grade I had a flat Stanley project where flat Stanley/flat Kayla had to be sent on a trip. At this time my grandparents were luckily traveling to London and, other places in Europe. When they came back and talked to me about their trip with flat Kayla I loved hearing the story’s and looking at all of the pictures they took with her in Europe, however I liked the picture from London better then the rest of the places. Since then I have wanted to travel to London.

Another reason that I want to travel to London is because during the summer my best friend went to London and she sent me pictures and videos of the sites she was seeing and the places she was staying. There were little coffee shops everywhere, most people walked to where they wanted to go, and the house that she rented was beautiful and unlike any house you would see here. Everything and everyone that was there look so happy and joyful that it made me want to go there even more.

The third reason that London is my dream vacation is because of the palaces. Each palace has unique, different, and has special features that make you want to keep exploring because there’s always something that you don’t notice the first time. Flat Kayla visited a palace in London and in that one picture there were millions of thing to look at. Even just looking at pictures online makes me so excited for when I’m older and get to go on my dream vacation. Well that’s it for todays blog, hopefully you liked it. Please read the next one and I’ll post to you next week.

All About Me!

Hi my name is Kayla. Welcome to my blog. Allow me to introduce myself. First off I’m 12 years old and a seventh grader at a middle school in Tustin. I have 3 siblings McKenna (15), Tessa (10), and Eli (8). I have 4 pets, a 2 year old puppy named Maggie, we adopted her when she was 8 months old from and adoption center in Chino Hills. Two days before that she was rescued from a kill shelter in New Mexico. My second pet is a cat who is 8 years old named Cody. He originally was a stray cat who lived on my street until he was 11 months old. Then one day he let himself into my house. He kept coming in through my doggie door and laying on my couch. When we got home from school we would put him outside and he would just sit on the rocking chair on our porch. After a few weeks, we gave in, and let him stay. Next is my sister Tessa’s hamster named lucky, she got her on Christmas of last year. Finally, my last pet is named Marbles, I got Marbles and the beginning of the summer however he was originally Tessa’s 4th grade class pet. The teacher was moving and she could not take the hamster with her and none of the other students wanted him so I volunteered to take him home.

I also am a dancer, I dance about 10 hours a week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. My studio is located in Irvine and it’s kind of like a second home to me. I have been dancing since I was 2 years old and the owners were my moms friends we she was growing up. My favorite style is jazz, and my least favorite is tap. Which is surprising because my mom loved to tap, my grandma loves to tap, my grandpa loves to tap, and both of my sister love to tap, so it’s kinda in my blood, I just don’t like it.

Some of my favorite places to travel to are Depoe Bay Oregon, Colorado Rocky Mountains, and Bass Lake. The last time went to Depoe bay a bald eagle flew about 20 ft away from us. I enjoy vacation that are on the colder side because that way I don’t get sunburned. I have also been to places like Las Vegas and Angles Camp but it was so hot that it was hard to want to spend time outside. In Bass Lake it wasn’t super hot or cold it was perfect weather, the sun was out but it still was 78 degrees, and the water was warm when we swam in it. That’s it for todays blog, hoped you liked it and please read my next one.
